I am a French Canadian girl, living in Ottawa, obsessed with living a positive and healthy life! For as long as I can remember I have always been a happy and positive human being. I find joy and beauty in all the little things in life. I have been blessed with a very big family: I have 7 siblings and supporting and caring parents.

My name is Marie-Pier (A.K.A. MP)

After graduating from the University of Ottawa with a bachelors degree in psychology (B.Sc.), I knew I wanted to help people, but how? I had just left a toxic and abusive relationship and felt pretty lost. So I took a year to try new things and figure out my purpose. I decided to try something very different- Law School! So I packed my bags moved to another city and started my law degree. During this time, I started to run, to lift weights and focus a lot on nutrition. Food became a passion, and quickly turned into an obsession. I became pretty controlling around food and had many list of foods to eat and to avoid. My body changed drastically during this time and I loved it! (I had abs for the first time!) I lost my period for that whole year & that made me proud because it meant that my body fat percentage was very low (disordered thinking much?). This all turned around one Friday night when I had my first binge episode - I ate EVERYTHING in sight. I remember calling my sister and crying myself to sleep that night. The next morning I went for a 15km run. I thought this was a one time thing but it turned into a cycle (binge-overexercise) and became more frequent, until I felt the exercice was not enough anymore and I started to purge. I knew there was a problem, but I didn't know how to fix it. I felt alone, weak, exhausted and overwhelmed. I decided to move back home and get help. It got worst before it got better, but I kept pushing. I knew life was more than obsessing about counting calories and having abs!

RD, B.Sc. Psychology

Through my recovery I thought there was a huge gap between nutrition counselling and psychology... My psychologist wouldn't address nutrition and my registered dietitian wouldn't talk about my thoughts, emotions, habits and belief.... THIS MADE NO SENSE TO ME! I firmly believe you CAN'T talk about nutrition without addressing mindset, thoughts, habits and beliefs. Food impacts your mental health and your mental health impacts your eating habits. So I decided to go back to university to get my nutrition degree to become a registered dietitian. Finding the balance between living a healthy lifestyle, being fit but not being obsessive & controlling is a hard task. But I am proud to say I did it. I finally learned to truly love myself, love my body & strive to be healthy every day (not look healthy).

My purpose is to help individuals create a healthy relationship with food and understand how to fuel their body for optimal health. I am committed to bring awareness to proper nutrition and help individuals create healthy habits to increase their energy and focus, while removing all the negative obsessive thoughts that are preventing them from achieving their goals. With my knowledge and personal experience I aim to enrich the lives of every human I encounter so they can live up to their full potential.
